They're very generous with portion sizes here! I ordered the Ekolu 3 meat plate since I wanted to try the teriyaki steak, Kaluha pig and one of the workers suggested the pelehu chicken. I was given a bed of cabbage, topped with two large scoops of macaroni salad and three scoops of white rice. I was then given very generous protein sizes for each of the three I'd ordered. For sauces I was given a spicy and an original sauce. Both were very good! The pelehu chicken was a great recommendation from the server! It had the right amount of char from coming right off the grill. The steak was also really good and I really liked that they added the sauce AFTER plating the meat. The kaluha pig didn't disappoint. It was very juicy and flavorful. Each protein paired very nicely with rice. I see why I was given one scoop for each. The server joked that I had enough food for a second lunch, dinner and even breakfast tomorrow. He joked but I'm realizing there was some seriousness to this. I definitely recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was quiet since the restaurant wasn't busy.

Howzit?! I know I know, where's Humgry Monster? It's mid week and just like me, she's at work. So this will be a short one for me today with the Progressive crew. Go team Flo! Located off of Craig Rd just a block or so from the Cannery, this spot shares a pretty big parking lot with several other restaurants. So plenty of parking. The venue sports a pretty islander feel as you walk in with reggae playing over the speakers and a very clean environment. This is a first for me ordering Hawaiian food the same way you would at Chipotle, but with tastier food. You start on one end and choose your toppings and pay at the cashier. The food handler was very informative when questions were asked, and friendly enough to even let my co-worker sample the Mac salad when he was curious about flavour. The end game, he got it. What ordered. - Regular 2 meat plate with rice, cabbage and Mac salad. Beef and grilled chicken SOLD So earlier this week I had Hawaiian at a competing restaurant and can say without a doubt, they do it better here. Both beef and chicken were surprisingly tender and flavorful. I didn't even have to use any sauces. The Mac salad definitely was better than most places I had and in par with one of my fave Hawaiian spots, Grind to the Max. Will be one of my new lunch spots now that I found out about them. Thanks Preach. Definitely a come back spot for the Hungry Monster. Worth the try if your looking for good eats and a clean dining experience. Mahalo and you you guys again soon.
